Our company always played a
leading role in cutting-edge plastic constructions
technology. One of these innovations is the development,
design and construction of SEGMENTED storage tanks for
chemicals. If the accessibility of the future tank location
(e.g. in a basement) is strongly reduced or obstructed by
piping or small entrance doors, the tank can be built on
site.
Teblick developed a special
construction method using flanged segments. During concept
development, the tank is divided in segments, small enough
to transport to the future tank location. Every segment
consists of an internal perforated steel structure. To
protect the steel structure from outside influences and to
promote a strong adhesion of the inner lining, the tank is
wrapped with a glass-fiber reinforced resin, and finished
with a UV-protective top layer. This results in a 3D
sandwich structure, which combines the following major
advantages: mechanical strength, chemical resistance and UV
protection.
All segments are flanged. On
site, the tank can easily assembled by bolting them
together. Afterwards, the segments are welded together from
the inner site.
A final Sparktest (25.000V)
guarantees the absence of any leak.
